SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE

                                         

Simple Present Tense adalah suatu bentuk kata kerja untuk menyatakan fakta, kebiasaan, atau kejadian yang terjadi pada saat ini.

Rumus Simple Present Tense beserta contohnya:

Kalimat positif(+)             : Subjek + Verb 1 (s/es) + Objek

Contoh                              : I ride motorcycle.

                                          : He reads a book.

Kalimat negatif(-)             : Subjek + Do/Does + Not + Verb 1 + Objek

Contoh                              : You don’t ride motorcycle.

                                          : She doesn’t watch a movie.

Kalimat Pertanyaan(?)       : Do/Does + Subjek + Verb 1 + Objek

Contoh                                : Do they go to the beach?

Contoh kalimat sehari2 Simple Present Tense :

A.      Untuk menyatakan suatu fakta

a.      Sociolinguistics is the study of the relationship between language and social environment

b.      The sun rises from the east

B.      Untuk menggambarkan kebiasaan atau kejadian yang dilakukan berkali-kali dalam bingkai waktu sekarang. Biasanya menggunakan adverb of frequency seperti: always, never, sometimes, often, seldom, dan lain-lain.

a.      My father wakes up at 5 am every morning

b.      The postman always delivers the mail on the morning

c.       I often check my assignment several times before submitting it to my teacher

C.      Untuk menggambarkan perasaan atau emosi. Biasanya menggunakan kata kerja statis (stative verbs) seperti feel, worry, love, dan lain-lain.

a.      I love my parents to the moon and back

b.      She feels anxious waiting for her cat to come back

c.       We worry about his current condition

SIMPLE PAST TENSE

Simple Past Tense adalah suatu bentuk tense yang menggambarkan suatu kejadian yang terjadi pada satu spesifik waktu di masa lampau.

Rumus Simple Past Tense beserta contohnya :

Kalimat Positif(+)             : Subject + verb 2 + object

                                          : Subject + to be (was/were) + adjective/adverb

Contoh                               : We attended the festival last week.

                                           : She was absent yesterday.

Kalimat Negatif(-)             : Subject + did not + infinitive verb + object

                                           : Subject + was/were + not + adjective/adverb

Contoh                               : We did not attend the festival last week.

                                           : She was not absent yesterday.

Kalimat Pertanyaan(?)       : Did + subject + infinitive verb + object?

                                           : Was/were + subject + adjective/adverb?

Contoh                                : Did they attend the festival last week?.

                                            : Was she absent yesterday?.

Contoh kalimat sehari-hari Simple Past Tense :

A.      Untuk menjelaskan suatu kejadian yang terjadi pada suatu waktu pasti di masa lampau.

a.      I met my husband in 2014.

b.      We visited Sydney for our honeymoon.

c.       The plane did not take off that day.

B.      Untuk menjelaskan kejadian yang berlangsung dalam suatu periode di masa lampau.

a.      Rose attended Harvard University for four years as an undergraduate.

b.      Royton lived abroad for five years.

c.       She played a lot of piano when she was younger.

C.      Untuk menunjukkan suatu kebiasaan atau aksi yang dilakukan berulang kali pada masa lampau.

a.      Alex swam a lot while he was on holiday.

b.      When I lived in Tokyo, I always walked a mile to my school every day.

c.       His boyfriend went to visit her every summer break until they broke up.

SIMPLE FUTURE TENSE

Simple Future Tense merupakan bentuk waktu untuk menyatakan peristiwa atau kegiatan yang akan dilakukan pada waktu yang akan datang. Dengan kata lain, pada saat diucapkan kegiatan itu belum dilakukan.

Rumus Simple Future Tense beserta contohnya :

Kalimat Positif(+)             : S + Will + V1

Contoh                               : They will go tonight

                                                : It will rain tomorrow

Kalimat Negatif(-)            : S + Will + Not + V1

Contohnya                         : They will not go tonight

                                          : She will not visit China

Kalimat Pertanyaan(?)   : Will + S + V1

Contohnya                      : Will they read this book?

                                       : Will she visit Kanada?

Contoh kalimat sehari-hari Simple Future Tense :

A.      Untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang akan dilakukan pada waktu mendatang.

·         Andi will come here.

B.      Untuk menunjukkan syarat.

·         Ghazali will give you money if you help him.

C.      Untuk meminta seseorang melakukan sesuatu.

·         Will you help me?
